Water...Water...Water?

We went to bed as usual one Friday night.  Then about 12:30 a.m.  the sprinkler system alerted us to the sound of a broken sprinkler head outside.  I believe it was a way that God used to wake us up to face an even bigger problem.

There was 3" of water on our  kitchen, and laundry room floor...and beginning to enter the garage floor.

Fortunately we have no carpet in those areas, and we were able to start mopping up before it seeped into furniture!

We picked up more than two gallons of water.  Our family chief had shut the water off into the house, and after  taking an hour and a half to clean up the major mess we went back to bed.  It was not until morning that we discovered the real problem..

We had our own indoor sprinkler system!  See the burst pipe?  And the water droplets on the bottom of the drawer?!

I think the clean up process is complete...and we probably don't have any lasting damage, though water did get under the tiles, so we don't know yet if they will work loose.Nor do we know how much may have soaked into the walls.  It was reported to the insurance, but the damage probably won't even meet the deductible we are told.
