Divine Encounter

I debated whether to take the car in to get some routine maintenance done.  When I arrived at the shop I was told it would take 4 hours before my car was ready.  The thought crossed my mind to Forget It! Come back another day when I knew someone could pick me up if I needed to wait that long.  I hesitated...but gave them the go ahead...I would visit the little Dollar Store next door, and memorize their products.

While I was choosing some greeting cards in the store, a familiar face appeared.  A woman I had met years ago was buying some cat food, and struck up a conversation.  When I told her I was hanging out, waiting for our car to be finished, she invited me to eat lunch with her at her usual hang out not far away.

I really was not hungry, but accepted the offer, knowing that it meant something for her.  She kept repeating how she had asked God to send someone TODAY to talk to and share with.  We talked about her recent purchase of a TV, and how she deeply desired having internet in her home, but thought it was too expensive.  We discussed options, and she left feeling like there might be hope, as it was not as expensive as she thought. She wants to know Gods will for her right now, and we discussed her situation.

This woman wants to do what is right...but has a light mental disorder which she controls with medication. Many people shun her because of this fact. She is searching for Gods will for her.   I am sure that God orchestrated our meeting. She is lonely, though she says she has many friends.  When I prayed with her before parting she was so grateful.

She gave me hope too, to know that God is interested in the details of our lives.  How I questioned whether to wait around for that long for the car...why do it today...there are other days!  I had no other appointments...was alone today...did not have to call anyone to tell them what I was doing...it was a blessing He had waiting for me. It was truly a Divinely Orchestrated (Chance) Meeting.
