Prayer

I recently listened to a sermonette by Chaplain Barry C. Black, and I was blessed by his message on prayer.  I want to remember his suggestions, so am 'recording' them here.
1. Prayer~make it as natural as breathing.
2.Use prayer to keep you from despair.
3.Do not expect a "yes" to every prayer.
"Oh my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from M; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." Matthew 26:39
4.Persevere in prayer
5.Pray in faith.
"... men always ought to pray and not lose heart." Luke 18:1
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Galatians 6:9
""But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6
6.Survive through prayer.

Now to put it all into practice!

#3. That example of Jesus in Gethsemene is one that has brought a lot comfort to me. If even Jesus got told no on such a big request, then it's for sure going to happen to us sometimes. But that doesn't mean we should stop praying in fear that the answer might be no or just because one answer is no. When things go exactly opposite of the way we think they should, if we can keep our faith strong, there will be plenty of strength available to get through the trials and we will come out stronger for the wear. If we, take the opportunity to start doubting, we crumble. I've tried both of the approaches out.
