The Project

On February 15 my husband and I signed papers for an adventure. We purchased a home to use as a rental.  I finally gave in to my husbands desires.  He has wanted to do this for a very long time.  This home was in need of some fixing up.  There had been a water leak that had gotten the carpet wet. Hence there was moldy carpet. The water leak needed to be fixed. There were crayon marks on the wall, and bedroom doors that had holes in them.  One door jam was broken because someone blasted through the locked door. The dining room light fixture needed replaced.... And more. It took two and a half weeks, but we got things fixed up, and the rental sign was not even up 24 hours before we had renters.  It was not even ready to move into when they handed us the deposit money!  It has fresh paint, and a completely new tiled floor.   Obviously the former renters had trashed the place as much as they could before moving out.  The neighbors have told us that this home has been used as a rental since it was built in 1983.  No wonder it was in such bad shape.
I have been stressed to the max.  I have been the go-fer.  They seem to know me at Home Depot.
I will survive this~ I have determination!

I pray those renters are real good, and last a long time, and take care of the house, and then you won't have to do anything else to it much for a long time.
