Bloggy World

There Are No Rules

I enjoy reading blogs.  It has become  my 'social outlet' over the past few years as my children have grown into young adulthood, and close friends have moved away. While I 'blog hop', I notice the wide variation in blogging styles. There are professional bloggers who earn money off there blogging skills. Others have fancy templates and signatures for their personal blogs.  Bloggy awards and give away's are a common practice here in blogsphere. So when I saw the above photo as I was reading one day~I adopted that thought.  I choose to do it simple. The reason I blog is to have a place to vent, rant, rave, brag about my kids or write a devotional thought that I want to remember. I can go for days, weeks or months without blogging, and not break the 'rules' for owning a blog.  I am not out to gather as many followers as I can get~because~really~ I like to know my readers.  So if you are here reading this~leave a comment to let me know you were here. :)

Well you already know that I enjoy keeping up with you, but I wanted to also say that I agree with your way of looking at your blog. Not trying to keep up with everyone else and what they are doing but doing what we feel led to do. That is the way I blog as well.
Have a great day, Lisa :O)

I was here! And I blog the same way! Though I have to admit, when the occasional opportunity comes my way to review a home school product on my blog in exchange for receiving it for free, I enjoy that too! It is like a happy little surprise! But I would never want that to be my REASON for blogging!

I was reading from my Google Reader and I just had to pop over and 'wave' in the comments. :-)

I'm a much better blog reader than I am a blogger.... and I'm okay with that.
(I do love playing around with design codes though... even to the point of throwing the whole blog out of whack. Happens a lot during the rainy season. Cabin fever?)

I am reading. following. and checking in with you.

Girl, I go through so many changes with blogging. I feel you.

One day I am blogging...the next day I have closed up shop.

Do you!

I'm here. And lately my philosophy has been the same as yours. There are things I would like to share, but 3 kids are very time-consuming! As well you know!

Hi Marci... Thanks for visiting and commenting. I am one who loves comments. I know that many people come to my blog, read it and leave. That's okay--but I never get to know these people. I have tons of 'regulars' who visit and comment --and they are truly friends. In turn, I visit their blogs and comment.

I don't pay much attention to my follower list. BUT--I do feel obligated to visit those who regularly visit me --and comment.

BUT--each to his/her own. That's just MY choice when it comes to blogging.

I choose not to participate in memes, giveaways, tags, etc... I do however have lots of friends who do--and that's okay...

We are all unique and special individuals --and I guess, all of our goals are being able to express our lives through this medium.

Thanks again for visiting. I hope you will return --but please don't feel obligated to comment unless you really want to.

Hugs,
Betsy

I couldn't agree with you more Marci! How liberating it is to come to terms with what works for you in this *bloggy world*. :) I like to get to know my readers, too...I consider them friends. Thank you for taking the time to visit me lately...it's lovely to hear from you.

Many Blessings!
Camille

I love this!! When I began blogging I would feel guilty if I didn't post often or comment on other blogs. I now realize that I blog for the very reasons you listed. Also, I want my children to be able to one day read through my posts and know their mama's heart. I recently had a blogger tell me that she hopes i get over 200 followers soon. Honestly, that's not why I blog. I don't care about my numbers. I want to know my readers. I have a heart for people. I want to share my love with them. Your post has made my day!!! Love to you my blogging friend Marci....from Marci :)
