Garden of the Chief

My husband likes to work in the garden as a 'therapy'~ but for 11 years we have struggled with any harvest. The plants would come up, but soon wither and die. Last summer his parents dumped some foul smelling cow manure to help enrich the soil.  Boy did it stink~for a long time! But we are now seeing the results.  However, the ugly squash worms have taken residence in some of the squash, and it kinda gives me the creeps! (We did end up spraying) This is the first time we have planted butternut squash.  I have more than I need!  I will be freezing some. Right now I have some zucchini chips in the dehydrator.  The corn will be ready in a few weeks.
The Chiefs spring garden has done well.

Beautiful! What a lush garden. Your husband has a good therapy, and so glad he has a harvest too.
